Georgia O'Keefe was born November 15, 1887 near Sun Praire, Wisconsin. Since the early 1920's O'Keefe has been well known for her paintings of flowers, rocks, animal bones, and landscapes. She is also known for her varying colors and her abstract painting style. She happened to find the majority of her artistic inspiration in New Mexico which is where she spent the majority of her life.
